Young Blood: Class x Masculinity in Contemporary Poetry

Young Blood: Class x Masculinity in Contemporary Poetry

Date Sat 29 Nov 2025, 4:00pm

What does it mean to be a young, working-class male writer in contemporary Ireland? We’re delighted to be part of this year’s Dublin Small Press Fair which will close out with a very special panel discussion featuring poets Charles Lang, Rafael Mendes and Matthew Rice, chaired by writer Eoin McNamee.

Through this conversation, panellists are invited to explore the intersections between class and masculinity, and to contribute to broader discourse on shifting gender roles, economic precarity, and the role of creativity in an increasingly unstable political landscape.

This event is free to attend and is presented in association with Poetry Ireland.
