National Heritage Week
As part of #NationalHeritageWeek 2026 we’re delighted to share this short film of ‘Not yet with the ashes this ragged thing /Ni a gye a sloha a turpog inox’ a poem by award-winning Traveller writer and curator Oein DeBhairduin.
The poem poignantly encapsulates Oein’s experience of rereading the Commission on Itineracy Report, 1963, a report which sought to eliminate Travellers from Irish society. This video is part of a broader conversation curated by Oein and broadcast by Skein Podcasts later this year.
Produced by Ian Maleney and filmed in May at the Botanic Gardens as part of Dublin Book Festival
